ecmn
Have you measured or noticed K deficiency in the plants? Have you done any rate application trials?

Time to enter all these names into Google and start reading.

John Breaker NDSU had a good article about K and different soils

Richard Mulvaney has some.good presentations on K and N.

Interestingly this goes back a long time.Cyril Hopkins had research in the early 1900s about the economics of fertilizer and challenged the removal rate theory.

William Albrecht. Who had some research on K.

There is also J.M. Powell, Dale Blevins, Raghu Raghavan, Fred Magdof, Howard Burkett, Charles Mcnaughton....

In their own way all of these researchers have done work to show how the yield goal, removal rate fertility program is a fallacy. We should be focused on understanding nutrient cycling, how plants and soil function, soil life, better knowledge of an actual nutrient Management program.
