If it came from an air brake truck, check the timing cover close for cracks and leaks. The air compressor hangs off the timing cover—there is a bracket on the rear of the compressor that is supposed to help support the weight but if it gets loose then the cover cracks. It’s a big job to replace the cover with the engine in the truck.
