Yes, you are right. Need to try and keep track of things to see if you are making money. It can be done. You think the big 100,000 head feedlots just wing it? Your name should be on the farm checking account so you can see that anytime you want. A good business should be bringing in cash and then having to pay income tax. Maybe the first few years a growing business might not make anything, but eventually should.
