CNY | My Grandfather went to Florida for over 20 years in the winter when he retired. He had a drain in the basement in the lowest point of his plumbing. Would shut the water off and drain there. Then he had an air chuck clamped in the small end of a milker inflation. Starting upstairs farthest away he would put the inflation over the faucet and open the valves and blow a shot of air through. Worked back down to closest to the drain in basement. I really don’t think the air was necessary but he swore by it. Never had any issues. Never heated the house at all, but it was an old brick house. We lived next door would just walk through and check everything once a month or so. | |
