So no heated tanks we just adjust troughs with curb stops valves underground to flow we need at each trough. Try to put a minimum flow of 5 gpm or more per trough. Also we run no floats on winter range. Mainly depends on well flow and distance. Some lines have 7-9 miles on them. Last trough in system is full free flow. Have also plumbed a curbstop valve inside trough, then bush it down to install a brass sprinkler nozzle like a 9/64th to keep flow going depending on gallon flow to that trough point and pressure. Easy to shut trough off and pull sprinkler nozzle out to clean line out if it silts up. Wells will be turned on, and run 24/7 while grazing in that location.
