And what if "man made" Global Warming isn't even a thing? That was one too many questions.

But when it comes to variable loads..........the power companies have that dialed in really well. And they know exactly when to slow down or accelerate power plants. Throw the intermittent generation in and it definitely threw a wrinkle into the equation.

I actually LOVE the concept of renewable energy. But it needs to back itself up to be economically viable. We have a lot of wind turbines around our area. I hear we're about the best wind area in our nation. Sometimes the wind blows hard for a week straight............and then stops for a week straight. There's no way that utility scale renewable generation works optimally in that situation. It's great when it's kicking butt................almost too great. Then shut it off with no ability to do a thing about it.............and you need another entire massive fossil fuel plant backing it up.

Right now they are wanting to build wind turbines and power lines on us. We haven't signed anything. If it plays out like they tell us it could be 7 figures every year. And yet somehow I'm still against this renewable energy as it exists today.
