Southern IA | I have an old cow that I bought as a 5wt to breed several years ago. Looks great, raises good calves, breeds back every year, will eat out of your hand in the pasture but if you go to get her in when it is not her idea shes going to cause one heck of an issue. Interestingly enough the two heifers i have kept back out of her and made cows out of act the exact same way. The whole family stayed home this fall instead of going to cornstalks because of it. Now she has another heifer calf in the feedlot, but i think i've learned my lesson on keeping hers and this one is going to be terminal for me. Definitely heritable. | |
