Yeah back when trucks rusted out in four years, the front ends needed rebuilt often, motors were considered worn out at or before 100,000 miles, and on and on. I remember when those trucks were new and at the time they were great. Now, I would kind of like to have a restored one just for nostalgia sake but sure don't miss the issues that plagued them as a daily driver. Times were definitely simpler then and things cost less for sure but I still wouldn't go back.
Oh come on now, the 4X4 squarebodys had leaf springs really not much to wear out in the front end and they actually steer and drive
very nice. The 2WD one ton I have has almost the exact same steering set up as the 2020 GMC Savana I was working on the other day. |
