And when will all the EV s get charged When people come home from work and through the night. And when does the wind usually die down. So we have solar and wind at night not working and who’s going to keep the lights on. Wait till people get up at 4 in the morning to get ready to go to work and the hot water for the shower doesn’t work.

Currently, the grid has the capacity. The demand for the Southwest Power Pool at 4 AM is usually about 5000 mw less than the daytime usage. At some point, that may change.

Looking at the wind production on the spp this week, there was 1 day the wind didn't produce much.

Not every person with an EV needs to charge every day. There will at some point have to be an economic incentive/penality to encourage charging when power is available. Also, we need to get these cars so they can feed back into the homes/grid when demand is high. This will take time, but it will be worked out. Some smart people are working on this problem. There is a solution. Most EV's have a 70 to 100 mwh battery, that can power most homes for 1 to 3 days
