I agree that without government intervention ethanol wouldn’t exist. I am thankful for it, but I believe it will fail, long term. It is a good stepping stone until something better comes along. No different than coal. The future will change in the energy business if we develop the ability to store power efficiently. Then the lowest cost producer will have the upper hand
What no one ever thinks about is low nitrogen use corn. As we develop it over the next decade its quite conceivable that ethanol will be the greenest form of transportation energy available
