What would one expect to pay to background a handful of heifers (5ish head)? This would be a scenario where the custom feeder is throwing our small group in with a larger group of their own.

Proposed rate is $2/head/day. I think that’s probably fair but looking for feedback as I really don’t know.

Edited to add: this is backgrounding or development to bring these heifers back into our herd. Not to a feedlot.
