| What crops are you looking to plant with? We had a 16 row 955 years ago that did ok with soybeans but the middle 4 rows planting corn the seed spacing was a disaster!!!!!!! We tried many different things to eliminate the skips, doubles and erratic seed spacings, but with seed delivery tubes 24' long for the middle 2 rows, nothing could be done. I was assured by our CIH dealer that seed spacing didn't matter, it was the superior seed depth control of my CIH early riser planter that was so important...... until a couple of years later and their new 1200 series planter came out and suddenly, seed spacing did matter..... and the value of the 955 planter tanked. I was so disgusted with CIH that the next tractor I bought was a JD which was the first green tractor on our place in three generations.... and there is very little red stuff left on our place that we use in the fields anymore. | |
