First, if your tv does't have/ or can't load apps for youtube tv or Netflix, get a Roku stick ( mine was $29 or $39 depending on options - might be more now) . Then try the free channels on Roku.
2) Get a free trial to YouTube TV for a month. (Keeps creeping up, Ithink it's about $75 a month now, but still half of Dish...) Not only do you have about the same, but more channels with it. Also, unlimited recording of shows. If you record a show, it will give you the ability to watch all seasons and all episodes of that series. It includes all local channels. Big 10 football is included at same price. If you turn on a game late, it give you the option to join live, start from beginning or catch up to current by watching key plays! You are forced to sit thru commercials if you watch live, but if you record the news, for example, you can start watching 30 minutes after it starts and fast forward thru commercials as you go. This works for all programs.
3) If your tv is too far from your wireless router and you don't want to run ethernet to it, just get a powerline adapter. For about $70, you can run internet thru your electrical wiring to the set, just by plugging in a couple of boxes.
