881 was the SOS

I believe there was also an x91 transmission (or was it the x71) which was SOS with a dual speed pto, or some such? Pretty rare I believe.

Front number is the engine and frame size. 6 is the small engine, small frame. 7 is the small engine, taller row crop frame. 8 is the big engine, lower frame. 9 is the bigger engine, taller row crop frame.

Middle number is the transmission type. Went from 2 through 6 on the older models, 2 through 9 on the newer models when the SOS transmission was introduced. Not every transmission was available on every model, but the 2 was bare back no 3pt or pto I believe, 4 was the common 4 speed version, 5 was the 5 speed, 6 was the live pto 5 speed. The newer SOS models used 8 or 9 (or 7?)) to spec the SOS.

Last number is the age. Xx0 is first generation, xx1 was second generation only minor changes plus the SOS option.
