If you google granular side dressing there is a company that makes one.
KMC used to make one a long time ago and I see them at auctions. I think Tabacco farms used them with small two and four row cultivators. As far as I can tell it was just a row crop dry fertilizer system with the hopper and metering rod that is ground driven.
