Right now.. I'm cutting 2025 soybeans acres in half.. and considering 100%.. There's no return below $10.50 board.. and the planting options suck.

There's anticipation that alot of corn acres will replace soybeans.. so I'm also cutting corn acres.. around.. 15% not much.. but less.. NOT more.

Cotton
Sorghum
Canola
Feed

On dryland.  Put up a fence and get some Feeders.. but when I say no interest.. I mean ZERO interest in planting soybeans for next year.

Book of 0.0 acres so far.. by far the worst ever in sales.

The board wants to lower bean acres for 2025?

Jon - just curious as to your optimism on the 3 alt crops you listed: cotton, sorghum, and canola.

Seems the cotton market is dependent on china’s mill demand (or so I think I heard on agritalk) and sorghum depends on how much “whiskey” the Chinese want to brew/distill. Is canola a legit alternative if Canada production is already tariffed by China in retaliation of Canada’s duties on Chinese electric cars and batteries and Biden’s tariffs on them take effect maybe Dec 1 2024?
