NS Canada | I have concrete trucks planned for today - But I'm 2nd guessing myself this morning. I have a 10 inch, 2 foot feed wall poured and currently the grade is the same on both the scrape alley side, as well as the feed alley side. The original plan was to add 4 inches of gravel inside the feed alley, so that it sits higher than where they stand. But because of some set backs, health and weather- that didn't happen.
If I hold off on pouring the feed alley, it can stay gravel for the winter, not great but I can live with it, though it would be prone to some flooding being lower than the surrounding area..
I can add gravel and raise it when the weather improves again in spring. This just means they'll be standing higher than the feed side for those months - but it's only going to be used for feeding round bales for the winter anyways (and most of the time). My only thought on going ahead with being level is that they seem to clean up round bale feeders standing at the same grade - but they aren't as wide to reach over, as this wall will be.
Would you pour them both on the same level at this last shot before winter, or only pour the scrape alley and wait on the other side to raise it? Its no issue to cancel some of the delivery at this point if need be.
