Central Texas
My Dad didn't always look approvingly at my equipment purchases, he usually thought we didn't need any newer stuff. After he ran the tractors with cabs and AC for a few days, he sorta changed his opinion. He wasn't real sold on the idea of planting flat, in this area we used to all make what we called beds in the field and then planted on top of them. Every operation in the field after you made the beds became an equipment and operator jarring experience. We seemed to make just as a good a crop on the flat land after all. He didn't have a lot of patience, when he thought it was time to get a job done you better get out there and do it as quickly as possible. Yes, we had our disagreements but without his and my Granpa's hard work and success I wouldn't be able to be doing what I'm doing now. He's been gone almost 14 years and I wish he could see all the things we've done with what he left us.
