Not what you asked about but I am interested in how you are doing drip irrigation in a no till situation. If you are kind enough to explain you could drop me an email or even start another thread.

It’s usually buried below a tillage line. Headers are buried on one end of a field. When irrigation is run the water percolates up and down. Usually the water gets to within 4-6” of the surface. It won’t work to start a crop from seed. Acid and other water conditioners are injected periodically to keep deposits out of the lines.
It’s usually good for 10-20 years depending on the water and management. After that it can be pulled back up, wound and recycled/disposed. Allows watering when it’s windy, no corners missed, etc. It’s much more water efficient as none is lost to evaporation. It’s expensive to buy and install if it doesn’t last 10-20 years and the crop is not high dollar (tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, etc.) |
