I'm not sure the AI lead you down the right path for a train of thought.
My information suggests JD used P(Y) code on specific receivers, and when this code is not transmitted, the receiver will not work, I have no idea if JD's software update removed the P(Y) code. Need JD's release notes on this update....go fetch them.
