Hay seed - 11/18/2024 20:32

At my seed cleaning plant, clean grain bin, i bend a piece of tubing in u shape and welded a flange onto it. Drilled a hole through roof . One side of tubing on the outside, other on the inside. Run a rope through tubing and a weight on the inside.

By dropping weight, the grain level is determined.

That probably works very well for a free flowing grain that always flows down evenly.

Some feeds do not always flow evenly from the entire bin.    Its not uncommon for one side of a feed bin to be nearly empty with feed on the opposite side stacked up nearly to the top of a the bin.
