When does USA decide btc should be purchased as a strategic reserve against inflation?

Currently a bill "in the hopper" for the US to buy 200,000 in Bitcoin a year for 5 years. If and when it actually passes remains to be seen.
Given that the Republicans swept the election and that many top Republican's hold Bitcoin I think it or something like it will pass next year JD Vance reportedly owns half a +million worth of Bitcoin.. Might be tempting for him and others to put their thumbs on the scale.
