Subject: Electric Hybrid (Heat Pump) Water Heaters

Central Indiana
I've been looking at water heaters as my current one (50 gallon Electric) will probably need to be replaced in the near future. The Hybrid (Heat Pump) water heaters have caught my interest.

For those of you who have a Hybrid Heater are you satisfied with it? And, have you achieved the claimed savings of 50 - 75%?

Since we would be putting the Hybrid Heater inside our house, I'm concerned about the cool/cold air it would produce during the winter (We're in Central Indiana and live in an older house). For those living in the North, do you switch off the Heat Pump when it's really cold in the winter?

Lastly, how much maintenance have you done on your Hybrid Heater? Any concerns or thoughts on the longevity of the Heat Pump portion of the heater?

Thanks in advance for your advice and opinions.

Jack
