Yes. Having been there done that, I highly recommend you spend the extra for white. We melted at 3.5# per gallon, gave us 2.1# elemental per gallon. It takes lots of time and a bunch of agitation. Use warm water if you can because the melting reaction will cause the water to become very cold and once it becomes cold, the melting process slows dramatically. It's also a dirty product especially if you can't control the source. We have coal and oats get in our mix. I assume the coal came from a barge and the oats came from a mix blended prior to ours.
