Subject: Check your soybean bins

Windom, MN
Soybeans this year were tough to combine here. We didn’t get any rain as they were ripening, so it was super uneven across the field. I have a 24’ bin with a 16” fan, so plenty of air and thought I would start since they were testing between 13.5 and 14. I didn’t think I had many pods in them, but there were quite a few green beans. No spreader either, may have helped but who knows.

I knew I had some to go in November, so left the fan on for a month then ran it on a cold night. Emptied the bin over the weekend and already had some mold/stuck beans on the wall.

Of course they went from too wet to too dry in like a day, so my other bin is fine, but this is just a PSA for those who may have started a little early, you may want to pull some out and take a look.
