Windom, MN | Soybeans this year were tough to combine here. We didn’t get any rain as they were ripening, so it was super uneven across the field. I have a 24’ bin with a 16” fan, so plenty of air and thought I would start since they were testing between 13.5 and 14. I didn’t think I had many pods in them, but there were quite a few green beans. No spreader either, may have helped but who knows.
I knew I had some to go in November, so left the fan on for a month then ran it on a cold night. Emptied the bin over the weekend and already had some mold/stuck beans on the wall.
Of course they went from too wet to too dry in like a day, so my other bin is fine, but this is just a PSA for those who may have started a little early, you may want to pull some out and take a look.
