You did just fine.
Nserve temporaryly stops conversion which incidentally doesn’t happen right away anyway because the injection site spikes pH and kills it off anyway. So Nserve is kinda worthless the first few weeks anyway.
And yes low CEC soil like sand can’t hold it after hydrolysis so it gasses off
