It was an in-line feeder that had a feed bunk built in. I filled it with corn and then put the pellets on top. The cattle would mix the pellets in with their head with in 10 minutes of being added. Honestly looked like it came out of a mixer. Treated it like a self feeder. Cattle had feed in front of them all day every day. Cut feed bill by 30% when I started feeding like this. I used whole corn and pellets and didn’t see a drop in gain at all. In fact death loss was under 1% compared to 2-3% using self feeders. I fed like this for around 4!years. Feed guy said things looked great and said people would save a bunch of money doing this.

I didn’t want to spend the money and build more storage for a grinder. My feed bunk was 40’ and had a 14’ cement pad.

It may not be agtalk approved but it worked great for me.
