They will heat either way. Main thing is don’t slam them in a tight stack. Keep the ends a couple inches apart at least. I’ve seen stalk bales at 25-30% turn out better than 18-20% bales simply because the higher moisture bales sat in the field for over a month after baling and the 18s got stacked tight 2 days after baling.

You aren’t the only one with stalks to bale yet.
