Trump issued MANY small refinery waivers on his last day in office. Why did he do this and why did he wait until his last day to do it? I think this action tells you all you need to know about how he rates the importance of Big Oil vs RFS. At that time, I really don't think he was thinking about reelection down the road, so he did what he wanted and that was to throw a bone to big oil at the expense of RFS. I also think he knows he'll get the farm vote no matter what he does. I hope I'm wrong. I'm all for more efficient and smaller government and less DEI stuff, tough on China, etc. but I am skeptical that Trump or any of the people he's putting in power are RFS supporters. At least we have Thune in the Senate who I think is a true friend of midwest ag.
