Hennepin, IL | Yeah I've been tinkering with this project for 2 years now and finally got it up and running the other day. When it worked (which it technically did the whole time) it worked great. I was spraying a burn down on corn stalks and I don't have steering in that tractor but had the line loaded that it was planted with and I'd stay within an inch or so whenever I had good throughput. Base was 8 miles away or so at that point. That's actually how I caught the problem, it wouldn't drop long enough to tell me it went to float, but all of a sudden I'd be 6" off the line. Didnt think much of it at first thinking it was because I was manually steering. Then noticed it would literally jump to 6" then back to 1" without me being lined up any different on the row. Started watching throughput and the outages corresponded with being off and as soon as it went back to 90+ I was right on.
Snip support actually got back to me and while he couldn't see anything on their end, he thought it sounded like lapses in cell data.
I've got a sneaking suspicion it's my phone as I've run into issues with data even when I have good signal like that. I can't say I ever had this issue with Digifarm but the bit rate on my stream is 6-7x the bit rate on the stream I was using of theirs. I think im gonna try switching back to legacy messages instead of the MSM5 I have it set to now to get my data usage lower and see if that doesn't help. Speaking of which, what messages are you sending out? You don't suppose it's something similar? | |
