SW OH | A tip is a reward to the server for service above and beyond the minimum. The idea of a percentage a bad idea. If you give me good service, I will give you a good tip. If you give me bad service, I will turn my water glass upside down on the table with a penny in it.
Most all of the restaurant service industry has lost their way in the last 40 years. I've talked to many managers that don't have a clue what the duties of a server are. If your boss doesn't know what your job requirements are, you are doomed. DEI has been around for a long time.
