| We have one, and there are quite a few others in our area. We use it anytime we need stuff sliced up. One downfall is that it doesn’t kill many weeds, but that’s not what we use it for. Sometimes we go over worked corn ground in the spring that has too much residue or wads made from the fall tillage. This summer I had some PP ground that went wild with large kochia and lambsquarters, I went over it with the Salford twice in opposite directions, then I was able to go in with the field cultivator and dig out the roots. Just last week I went over my wheat cover crop with it on two PP quarters. The wheat was seeded in early September, but due to the warm extended fall it never got killed off by cold temps, so it was getting pretty big and thick. The Salford thinned it out and blackened it up a little so it can dry out and warm up better next spring. | |
