Running a 4640 display in a JD 8360RT connected to a Raven 450 with serial cable for VR and mapping NH3 apps. Works great. Glad JD chose to put that serial cable functionality in the 4640s.... If I recall correctly, they maybe didn't right out of the gate....but a software update added it? I may be wrong there.
I'd like to track where each tank of NH3 goes. Tanks around here all have numbers on them for weigh scale purposes. With any number of Ag Leader monitors since the PF3000, we just changed Regions and typed in the tank name. That way, if you ran an N-Serve or Centuro test or had a problem where one tank didn't weigh back properly (light on application rate, for example), you knew exactly where it was in the field......simply map the Dataset Name with whatever mapping software you were using.
Only way I could figure out how to do this with the 4640 was to change products. So I named a product "N 2320 Centuro" for the first tank I applied. When I got to the second tank, I made a new product called "N 2319 Centuro" and changed to it. Coverage map instantly gone. Screen showed no indication that I'd done anything in the field yet and I'd applied 25 acres. Changed Products back to "N 2320 Centuro" and my coverage map came back just fine. Ran it set on that product the rest of the short time we were able to apply Tuesday and Wednesday. Tried changing products again when we got rained out and it does indeed clear the map when you change products. Change back to the original product and all your apps show.
What am I doing wrong? I am no Deere monitor expert. Or is this just how the 4640 behaves with that particular setup? Is there another way I can mark or flag where I start/stop tanks? I suppose I could use the Flag option, but that would get old fast and get forgotten too.....
Thanks in advance for the help.
