I actually think it's now rude to leave any kind of coins as a tip;
This reminds me of something I do
I will leave 15-40% tip normally, food is great service not so much 15% and vice versa,
When food was terrible and service staff didn’t do a good job either I have once left them a single coin whichever smallest one I have in my pocket which can also be placed on napkin with the word tip on it, my way of showing I didn’t “forget” to tip but service and food quality didn’t seem to deserve it.
