Tried fence line warning 2x. Hated it each time. I felt the same as you. The cows stood there and bawled, and so did the calves, it lasted for what seems like 2 weeks straight.
I started moving the calves and locking the cows on a different pasture. Like it much better.
This year I tried ferapease on the calves and felt it made a difference.
