Subject: RE: Cobett waterers in a feedlot?

SE Wisconsin
I put two cobetts in my cow yard last year. One of them is in the corner of the yard.... Which is a great shade area .. so in summer the cattle would huddle in that corner to get in the shade and that ended up causing manure to get in the waterer... I would say it was no worse than the water tank that was in its place. It was a result of the cattle trying to find shade... The other cobett is more in the open and there is no problems...

Both we're installed with a windbreak close and we have had few problems with ice.... Id say when we had steady wind or sub zero temps we would get a small amount of ice in them in the morning and once at night. But all day they were open. We just got in the habit of breaking the ice in the morning first thing and breaking it at night during evening chores... And it only happened 4-5 times all of last winter...

I like them.
