Subject: RE: Lamb cooked right

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
Back in the late 60s early 70s dad and one of my now deceased uncles were raising a lot of lambs. My mother and uncle got VERY good at preparing lamb and lamb was actually one of my preferred meat choices when I was a little kid.

One fourth of July my uncle spent the better part of the day spit roasting leg of lamb over a charcoal pit fire while drinking a few Grainbelt Premiums. I still remember how amazing that leg of lamb tasted and have been forever since telling myself that someday I am going to try duplicate my uncle's process.

Lamb isn't readily available around here, but I did find a few packs of small lamb chops on sale at our local Coburns store this summer and grilled them on my pellet grill. Much to my surprise the lamb chops turned out pretty darn good...gives me some confidence/hope of trying to realize my goal of spit roasting a leg of lamb like uncle used to do.
