And they have squeezed out so many other farmers by upping rents with that money and now, even if he has to pay it all back, inflation has made it where he'll pay back way less than he stole.
It's not a funny situation - but I did hear something that made me laugh a couple years ago. A guy that farms across the fence from them said they had a field of corn so bad that he was embarrassed just to drive past it...
