| The liability insurance itself isnt tough to get, it can just get pretty pricey fairly quick. Need to find a company that will take on aerial applications. In order to get, you will need certificate numbers, like 107 and 137 certs, and drone serial number and N-number from registration before they will touch you.
Also each drone needs its own plan, at least from the quotes I've gotten from different companys. Your premium might be around $3500 per year per drone for example. And that's just for the liability. Hull insurance is seperate. If you were gonna insure 2 drones, you might be looking at $12,000+. Lotta people I talk to skip the Hull insurance for this reason. Takes a big wreck to justify it. For example, my hull insurance is $3,000 and the deductible is $2,000. So unless you plan on wrecking it multiple times, or damn near totaling the thing, it's $5,000 just to break even | |
