SC NE
I'm a Type 1 diabetic, used Freestyle 14 day for about 3 years, then upgraded to Freestyle Libre 2 for a few months. Insurance decided they would only pay for Dexcom a year ago, so I switched to the Dexcom 7. Also use Omnipod for insulin the last 3 years or so. When I switched to Dexcom, I also upgraded to Omnipod 5 since they will eventually communicate with each other.

As far as CGM goes, I prefer the Dexcom to the Freestyle because the Freestyle readers had to be touched to the sensor to show the reading. Dexcom 7 will constantly update the reader as long as it's within 20 feet or so. The Dexcom is a 10 sensor vs 14 day, but not that big of deal for me as insurance pays 100% for everything. I wear mine on the back of my arm. Tried one on my stomach but it rubbed on stuff too much. After a while you get used to protecting the back of your arm since I have the Dexcom on one arm and the Omnipod on the other. Both companies are good about sending replacement units if one get snagged and pulled off or quits working before it's supposed to. Some of the Dexcoms have trouble getting connected but they'll send a new one.

Before I started using all the tech my A1c was in the 8 range, now it's consistently 6.5-6.9. I tell my wife that I'm a bionic farmer now with stuff stuck on both arms. I've been diabetic 19 years and feel the best the last 3 years or so.
