Subject: RE: Planter monitor upgrade advice

South Georgia
I would recommend a used Precision Planting monitor. My planter is also ground drive. Contrary to most on here, I like ground drive it for its simplicity. When others are troubleshooting hydraulic drive issues, or fussing with proshafts, I'm planting. I like to have good technology to monitor my planter, but I never want it to get in the way of planting. As far as a monitor that will help you quickly diagnose row-unit issues, blockages, out of seed, incorrect rate (wrong sprocket combination) this unit has you covered. I also found that I really like being able to monitor down force. My planter is still using manual-adjust down force springs, but adding weigh pins to each unit has helped me diagnose issues with toolbar linkages that I would not have known about with a simple monitor.
