With some/most repeaters you lose speed (one half). So, if you don't want to lose speed, use an Access Point like this:.

Building/wall reduces distance of WiFi, sometimes even stopping signal (as your corn bin does). 5GHz is faster than 2GHz, but doesn't travel as far I believe. I use an Arymesh/Arystone system, if I can 'see' the antenna (3/4 mile) I've got service but on the other end of a 120' steel covered pole barn, no service (2 walls of steel).
