| The precision planting wave vision tubes read the seed at the exit of the tube. The standard sensors read half way down the tube. My personal opinion is it’s likely not worth buying an expensive monitor with singulation unless you also put in the wave vision tubes. I think we have more spacing errors in the seed tube than from the meter. I very rarely find a double drop. If I see a double it’s usually next to a skip because a seed ricocheted in the tube and the seed behind it caught up to it. You could see those with a wave vision tube and a 20/20, but anything else won’t catch that. One nice thing about having a computer trac 350 is that you can catch it quicker when you run out of seed. You can see the population start to dip before you get a complete no plant alarm. | |
