north central kansas | We continued to have the issue of the AFC shutting us out after a few seconds when using the 8 row corn head converted to ARRO row head for milo. Changed out alternators thinking it was a voltage issue and didn't help. Have issues with AC fan so thinking that is the source of some voltage issues.
We did switch out the row head for our 25' Harvestmore platform and cut some pretty good milo and had zero issues. Think this is related to the amount of power required to run the row head and our Feeder Drive belt is possibly needing changed. That is next on the radar. We have had the combine for 8 years and have not touched that belt and have probably put 800 hours or more on it.
With it not duplicating on the platform, I am thinking this would rule out solenoids, seat sensors, etc.
Thoughts anyone? If you are not familiar with corn head conversion, it takes out the stalk rollers, keeps the gathering chains but adds rotating discs driven by the gathering chains to cut the heads off.
