North Mississippi Delta / Alabama Gulf Coast | 2016 Ford Expedition, key turns off but won’t come out of switch.
Did some online research and there is a switch with plastic pin in the console that release the key switch when shifting to park. There is an audible click in the console operating the key on and off. Seems the pin wears and won’t engage, key sticks in switch.
The console will have to be removed to get to it.
With the key in the switch, there is a parasitic voltage drain that discharges the battery to <40% so system shuts down.
I disconnected the battery and it took a full charge and cranked the engine so it’s still good.
Till I can deal with it, it can stay disconnected.
Is there any thing else that I overlooked to get this issue fixed? Still a good dependable ride with life left.
TIA!
