Subject: Replacing small pipe on grain trailer tarp

Missouri
Have a cornhusker 800 trailer, small pipe on right side is rusting and falling apart. Called dealer and they said they sell 23.5’ splice and weld and cut to length. Is it necessary to splice and weld or if I slide 2 - 20’ pieces and clamp behind risers is that ok? My trailer with broken pipe off front, and an internet photo.
