Townsend, Montana | Chick mindset, as always - cheap, cheap, cheap and cheaper.
Bin run seed for wheat and generic alfalfa seed. Cheap hay means I will interseed some more cheap orchard grass.
I have yet to figure out how to make P work in my soil so it really doesn't pay with current prices. K levels are boderline low but no matter how much I do or don't apply they never change. So no P or K, like always. N kinda pencils on wheat. Buying the N is better than the protein dockage, but at current prices it's still a loser either way. But I'd rather loose money on good quality 120 bu wheat than 80bu feed wheat. Prices will rally eventually and more of the metric by which you sell always pays better in my opinion.
Store and ignore pretty much sums up my current plan. | |
