If you eat a chimpanzee diet it probably holds true.

If you cut out commercial processed foods you will be lowering salt intake without realizing it.

Eat a low carbohydrate diet more salt can be tolerated or even needed. Carbohydrates tend to cause the body to retain more fluids. Get rid of the excess fluids and some of the sodium goes with it.
