RR Valley, ND; MN native | Dad had a new idea picker like that one. Used up until he retired in the 90s. It was pulled with a IH 544 that had a 1/2 cab with canvas skirt, so no heat but some wind protection.
There were 5 wire cribs on the farm. 2 of them typically got emptied by shovel into the feed mill for cattle feed. The others got shelled in July and went to the elevator.
Picture is of my Dad's cousin on uncles farm picking in the snow with a Case 1 row picker and that JD with the "heat houser" type of wind break. Probably around '51 or '52
