Subject: RE: Filling the corn crib

Virginia
We had a john deere 300 picker when I was a teenager. We'd fill two wire corn cribs every fall/winter. I think they held around 2000 bushel each, maybe 2500 bushels.
Then We'd grind it up and fill the Smidley "steer stuffers". I always enjoyed grinding feed. I'd grind several feed mills a week. We still have the gehl mix all, I don't remember the model number.
We pulled the 300 picker with a ford 8600 and I remember how cold it would be. We bought a ford 8730 in the mid 90's and I thought we were big time pulling the picker and a deere 3950 chopper with that.
